BRIAN DRUKER, MD.

Dr. Druker is recognized world-wide for his key contributions to the clinical development of imatinib (Gleevec ®) for the treatment of CML. His laboratory focuses on the molecular abnormalities that contribute to leukemia and has studied BCR-ABL mutations that impart resistance to imatinib, as well as ‘second generation' therapeutics that are active against specific imatinib-resistant BCR-ABL isoforms. Dr. Druker is the JELD-WEN Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science, a Howard Hughes Medical Investigator (HHMI), and serves as Director of the OHSU Center for Hematologic Malignancies.

MICHAEL HEINRICH, MD.

Dr. Heinrich is a hematologist with expertise in the detection and functional analysis of oncogenic mutations in hematopoietic disorders and solid tumors. He is widely recognized for his studies of PDGFRA and KIT gene mutations in GI stromal tumors (GIST), and for the detection of kinase mutations in leukemias. Dr. Heinrich is a principal investigator for a number of ongoing translational research studies related to the use of novel kinase inhibitors. Dr. Heinrich is a Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and serves as Chief of Hematology & Oncology at the Portland VA Medical Center.
